Classes (NO CLASSES At THis TIME)
Welcome! We’re so happy you’re here. Unfortunately, due to the past few years of the pandemic, we are no longer offering yoga classes. We have pivoted and are concentrating more on our farm and apiary business, DaNamaste Farm & Apiary, LLC, and Dana is now exploring healing through art and creativity. The best way to stay up-to-date with DaNamaste Farm & Apiary, LLC is to join our community by subscribing to our email list. It’s also a great way for us to keep in touch! Thank you for dropping by!
Namasté.

NO LONGER OFFERING YOGA CLASSES!
***UPDATE: I AM NO LONGER OFFERING YOGA CLASSES.***
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a quiet, slow-paced, and deeply meditative practice that uses long held postures to target the connective tissues and is designed to open the joints, clear blockages, and get energy (Qi) moving through the body. Poses are passive and held for longer periods of time, usually 2-5 minutes, concentrating on stressing the joint tissues for increased flexibility and range of motion. This practice is wonderful for strengthening the mind-body connection and is a gateway for many people who are having a hard time learning to meditate. All levels welcome.
Restorative Yoga
This class is about total relaxation, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, and restoring your body back to good health. Poses are soothing and well-supported, leaving you feeling nourished, cared for, and well rested. Relax into postures using as little physical effort as possible while the mind focuses on the breath, cultivating mindfulness, and releasing tension from the body. Poses are usually supported by props and are held for several minutes at a time. All levels welcome.
Gentle Yoga
This class is slow and gentle making it accessible to most everyone. Poses can be modified with props to accommodate where you are right now, allowing you to find a safe and comfortable position. The pace of this class is unhurried, deliberate, and relaxed, allowing you to focus on stretching to release tension while increasing circulation and flexibility. Slow, mindful yoga is a wonderful way to increase awareness, improve proprioception and interoception, and to "train your nervous system" to be more resilient- learning to slow down and let go when appropriate, and to rev up and engage when appropriate. All levels welcome.
YiNidra
This class is a combination of my two favorite yoga practices: Yin Yoga (see detailed description above) and Yoga Nidra. We will begin with a series of passive Yin poses that are held for longer periods of time, encouraging the practice of introspection, and strengthening the mind-body connection; bringing you to a calm, peaceful way of being. From there, we will enter into the Yoga Nidra portion of the practice in which you will be guided into a deeper state of meditation to relax you even further, helping to promote healing from deep within. Thirty minutes of Yoga Nidra is said to be the equivalent of two hours of deep, restorative sleep! This class would be particularly lovely as a private yoga class as both practices can be tailored beautifully to fit the individual needs of the student. "YiNidra" this class, yogis! You really do! This class is for everyone. All levels welcome.
Restorative with
Yoga Nidra
This class begins with a lovely sequence of relaxing and restorative yoga poses to calm and soothe the body, mind, and soul. We will then transition into everyone's favorite pose, Savasana, and finish with Yoga Nidra, also known as "yogic sleep", a guided meditation to relax you even further and promote healing from deep within. Thirty minutes of Yoga Nidra is said to be the equivalent of two hours of deep, restorative sleep! This class is wonderful for everyone. All levels welcome.
Yoga for Newbies
This four part class is designed to introduce new and continuing students to the fundamentals of yoga and prepare students for group classes. The series will provide instruction on the basic understanding of breathing/pranayama, meditation/dhyana, yoga poses/asanas, and modifications or variations (of poses) for different body types (none of us are the same!) We will move slowly through the classes with plenty of time to pause and reflect. This will be an easy, fun, laid-back class! All levels welcome.
Yin Yang Yoga
I created this class for the yogis who love both the Yin and the Yang practice of yoga. We'll begin with the quiet, slow paced, and deeply meditative practice of Yin Yoga to target joint health, free up stagnant energy, reduce stress, and help develop a healthy mind-body connection. The second part of our practice will be a lovely flow of more active, yet gentle and mindful, yoga poses focused on stretching to release tension while increasing circulation, flexibility, and strength. Yin and Yang should always be balanced in your life, and this class is a wonderful way to accomplish that! All levels welcome.
Yang Yin Yoga
Very similar to our Yin Yang Yoga class, but in the reverse order! This class begins with a more active Yang sequence of gentle, mindful yoga poses focused on stretching to release tension while increasing circulation, flexibility, and strength. We then incorporate Yin Yoga into the final half of our practice. Yin Yoga is usually done when the muscles are "cold", so by practicing the Yin Yoga portion of our sequence last, we will not get as much stress in the connective tissues and joints (since the muscles will be warm from our Yang Yoga poses.) Instead, the stretch will go to the muscles. We will still be receiving the mental health benefits of stress and anxiety relief that you normally enjoy with the Yin Yoga practice, as well as helping to induce a restful state for improved sleep. It all depends on what you would like your intention for the practice to be. And, as always, it's up to you! All levels welcome.
The Yoga Sandwich
Finding a yoga class time that works for you might be difficult depending on your schedule, so I'm offering "The Yoga Sandwich!" The Yoga Sandwich is a thirty minute yoga class offered during the lunch hour. It's the perfect way to re-fuel for the rest of your day. Each class will have a different concentration or style of yoga, but we'll always end with Savasana! (Be sure to subscribe to my email list so you'll know what's being offered each week.) The Yoga Sandwich... a little bit of yoga sandwiched into the middle of your day, in the middle of your week! All levels welcome.
Chair Yoga
Chair yoga is a wonderful solution for those of us who find ourselves in a chair for extended periods of time or who simply find it difficult to get up and down off the floor. This class is a practice made up of simple exercises that will help to strengthen and stretch your body while focusing your mind and helping you to tap in to your breath. All levels welcome, but this class may be especially helpful for those who are new to yoga, seniors, or those with chronic illnesses or who are recovering from injuries.
Slow Flow to Restorative Yoga
The best of both worlds... We'll begin this class with a little bit of slow, gentle, mindful yoga focused on stretching to release tension while increasing circulation and flexibility. Then we'll ease into soothing, nourishing, and deeply restful Restorative Yoga. A wonderful practice to sooth whatever ails you. All levels welcome.
Yoga Sampler
Not sure which class is right for you? The Yoga Sampler Class will give you a taste of three different styles of yoga all in one class. Start your "meal" with a delicious appetizer of Gentle Yoga to get you warmed up and energized. Next, enjoy a main course of long held, deeply meditative Yin Yoga postures to open up the joints and get Qi moving. Then top it off with a leisurely, decadent, and well deserved dessert of relaxing, nourishing Restorative Yoga. Delicious! All levels welcome.
Book Club Yoga
If you're a yogi who loves to read, this class is for you! I'll choose a book for us to read, beginning with The Yamas & Niyamas by Deborah Adele. Each class will begin with some informal, easy discussion about the book we are reading. We will then practice a yoga sequence themed on that day's book discussion, followed by some Restorative to contemplate and digest all we've learned. All levels welcome.
A Cup of YogArt!
Yoga and art? What's not to love?! This is a class for my yoga community. We gather together once a month for free-style yoga, followed by art, snacks, and a cup of tea (or coffee)! Feel free to do whatever yoga appeals to you whether it be Restorative, Yin, Gentle, or maybe you just want to spend a little time in Savasana. That's cool. Afterwards, we'll do a little art together. Bring along your knitting, crocheting, adult coloring books, sketch books... whatever art appeals to you... and we'll chat and share while we do a little "art therapy" together. Don't know how to knit (or crochet or sketch...) ? I bet someone would love to show you how. Let's build our yoga community! All levels welcome. This is a free class.
The Yoga Rabbit Hole
I created this class for others, like me, who are interested in diving deep into the "yoga rabbit hole". These classes/workshops will be geared towards yogis who want to learn more about all things yoga-related. We will cover different styles of yoga; yoga philosophy; meditation; Yoga Nidra; nature bathing; energy healing modalities such as Reiki, chakra healing, crystals, singing bowls ... The topics are endlessly interesting and joyously endless. If you're interested in gaining back some control over your own health; finding out more about complimentary, alternative methods to help re-gain and promote health and wellness; increasing your intuition; and generally opening your mind to new ideas and creativity, then you will love these classes and workshops! All levels welcome.

FAQ
What do I need to bring to yoga class?
Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you might have, including bolsters, blocks, straps, and blankets. If you do not have any props, reach out to me as I may have some available for purchase. Be sure to bring a water bottle so you stay hydrated!
How should I dress for my yoga class?
Comfortable clothing is best. For more active classes, dress cooler. For Restorative Yoga or Yin Yoga, you may want to dress a little warmer as we hold poses for longer periods of time. You may even want to bring a pair of cozy socks or a sweater in the cooler months.
What classes do you recommend for beginners?
My Yoga for Newbies is a great class for beginner yogis. It teaches the fundamentals of yoga for those who are completely new to the yoga scene. Restorative Yoga is for absolutely everyone. We can all use a little Restorative in our lives! Yin Yoga is also easy to learn and can be highly modified to suit your body type. Gentle Yoga and Slow Flow Yoga are also great for new yogis as they are much slower paced, allowing time to modify the poses to suit your body.
Are there any forms I need to fill out before-hand?
Yes. There is an NEW STUDENT WAIVER that everyone needs to fill out prior to taking a yoga class with me. This is necessary for insurance purposes. The form can be completed upon arriving for your first class in my studio, or you may click the link above to download and print a copy so that you can bring the completed form with you to your first class.
Which would be best for me: a group yoga class or a private yoga class?
Private yoga classes are tailored to your individual needs. Whether you’re dealing with specific conditions or limitations, or would just prefer to practice yoga in a more private setting, a private yoga class may be the right fit for you. Private yoga classes are also great for people who would like to learn a little bit of yoga on their own prior to taking a public class. People dealing with anxiety or depression, who have body issues, who are prenatal or post natal, or who just aren’t quite ready for the group yoga setting yet, may find private classes to be a good fit. Group classes, on the other hand, are a great way to have communal support on your yoga journey. Group practice has a great energy to it. Whether you’re meditating, practicing Down Dog, or resting in Savasana, there’s nothing like the feeling of being connected to others while you’re on your yoga journey. Still unsure of which way to go? CONTACT ME and we’ll talk about it!
Do you offer private group or couple's yoga classes?
Yes! I offer private group classes for up to four people. This is a wonderful way for a group of friends or family members to learn or practice yoga together. You will each be given individual attention and plenty of opportunities for modifications. Private yoga is a great way to have all of the questions you’re curious about answered. Pricing is different for private group classes. The price for two people is $70 for a sixty (60) minute class. Each additional person (up to four people total) is an additional $15 per person. Thirty minute sessions are also available. Please CONTACT ME for more details.
How do I register for a class?
Go to my CONTACT PAGE and send me a note to let me know which class, time, and date you are interested in. I will send you an email confirmation to let you know you’re registered. You may also text me the same information (texting is faster) and I will text back a confirmation. Please register early as class size is limited!
What payment methods do you accept?
All group and private classes can be purchased with cash (exact amount, please) or check (payable to DaNamaste Yoga & Wellness.) You may also pay via a debit or credit card through a Square reader here in the yoga studio. (A small, additional fee will be charged to all payment modes other than cash or check as required by the merchant. Contact me for further details.)
Should I eat before coming to class?
It’s best to practice yoga on an empty or near empty stomach. It’s okay to have something light before-hand so that you don’t get hungry during practice, especially if you have low blood sugar or diabetes. A heavy meal, though, might cause you some discomfort. Be sure to drink plenty of water before coming to class so you will be well hydrated and bring a water bottle with you so you stay that way!
How does the DaNamaste Yoga & Wellness, LLC Online Yoga Classes Facebook page work?
Although we are not currently offering online classes, DaNamaste Yoga & Wellness, LLC at times offers online yoga classes on our private Facebook page, DaNamaste Yoga & Wellness Online Yoga Classes. To be added to our private group, you must have a signed New Student Waiver on file with me, and you must sign up and pay for a class or series of classes I am offering. Your payment will give you access to the Facebook page for a specific amount of time, which will be specified in the class description you sign up for. Be sure to subscribe to my email list to stay up-to-date on all of the classes I am offering.
What time should I arrive for class?
It’s best to arrive five to ten minutes early so you have time to choose a spot, roll out your mat, and get comfy. We will lock the doors once class begins, so please do not arrive late. Also, keep in mind that we will finish each yoga class with several minutes in Savasana. It’s so important to take time at the end of your yoga class to be still so that you can incorporate, or digest, everything you’ve done, felt, and processed on the mat during class. Should you need to leave early, please try to do so before Savasana begins out of love and respect for your fellow yogis.
How are you handling COVID?
Due to the size of my studio, I am currently only teaching private yoga sessions or small groups of two to four students. Proof of full vaccination for COVID is required prior to registering for a class. I no longer provide yoga mats and props for students due to concerns regarding the transference of germs. I do have some yoga mats and props available for purchase should you need them for a class. Please contact me should you have any further questions.
Can I leave my cell phone on during class?
Quiet Please...
Please be sure to silence your phones before class begins. You will want to silence the vibration mode as well since even vibration mode can be heard through-out a quiet yoga studio. Turning off your cell phone will obviously solve this problem, but this isn’t always an option for everyone. I realize we all have loved ones to care for and we want to be available to them. Airplane Mode might be your best option, in that case. If you have an iPhone, you can place your phone on the Do Not Disturb Mode (swipe up on your home screen and tap the crescent moon.) Either of these methods will silence the phone, but you will still be able to quickly glance at your phone to see if your loved one has tried to reach you. I would urge you, though, to try and forget your phone during the time you’re here and be fully present as a gift to yourself and to those around you.
Other (IMPORTANT) Stuff
Please do not wear perfume, cologne, or any other heavy scents when you come to yoga class due to potential allergies or sensitivities other yogis may have. In addition, we use allergy-sensitive, environmentally friendly products to clean our yoga studio.
