Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.

Butterfly on Purple Verbena.
You may have noticed my logo for DaNamaste Yoga & Wellness is a butterfly. This happened organically, but also on purpose. Life’s funny that way. I feel like I’ve been a caterpillar all of my life and now, in my fifties, I am blossoming into a butterfly and finally, finally, becoming who I want to be. It’s no surprise then, that Butterfly pose is my favorite Yin Yoga asana.

My hearts.
Okay, so I didn’t take this one! But, I love it just the same. My husband took this shot of me and my kids while visiting the vast, and devastatingly beautiful Grand Canyon in Arizona. I love looking at this photo. It captures the love my kids and I have for each other and it makes my heart swell up inside my chest.

Perched on a mountain top.
My son, Niko, climbed up onto these rocks in the foothills of South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona and struck a meditative pose for me. I love his spirit of adventure and willingness to try anything once. He is an old soul in a young body and his heart is as big as a mountain.

birds in flight.
I often wonder what it would feel like to be a bird in flight. There’s something so magical in their peaceful glide across the sky. If you’re really still, you can hear the soft, gentle swoosh of air beneath their wings as they soar above you. I think I would like to be a bird, if only for a moment.
